Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 September 2026

Cubenary Limited ("Cubenary", "we", "us" or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect personal data when you visit our websites, subscribe to our newsletters, contact us, or interact with our games and related services.

1. Who we are

Cubenary Limited is a UK game development company.

Cubenary Limited

Company number: 12785664

Email: info@cubenary.com

For privacy-related questions or requests, you can contact us using the email address above.

2. What personal data do we collect?

We aim to collect only the personal data we need for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

Newsletter subscribers

When you subscribe to our newsletter through our website, we collect your email address.

Our newsletter subscription form is used to provide you with updates about our current and future games and general newsletters.

We do not ask for or collect your name, postal address, payment information or password through our newsletter subscription form.

Information you provide when contacting us

If you contact us by email or another communication method, we will receive the information you choose to provide to us, such as your email address and the contents of your message.

We use this information only as necessary to respond to and deal with your enquiry.

Games and third-party platforms

Our games may be distributed or operated through third-party platforms, such as Steam and, where applicable, Epic Games services.

Cubenary does not operate a separate Cubenary player-account system for these services. Where you use a third-party platform, that platform may collect and process personal data under its own privacy policy and terms.

We do not receive or collect information simply because you play a game through one of these platforms unless the relevant service makes information available to us as part of providing a service or feature.

3. How we use your personal data

We use personal data for the following purposes:

  • To send newsletters and updates to people who have subscribed to them.
  • To communicate with people who contact us.
  • To provide, maintain and support our services where personal data is necessary for that purpose.
  • To protect the security and integrity of our services.
  • To comply with our legal obligations.
  • To establish, exercise or defend our legal rights where necessary.

We do not sell or rent your personal data.

We do not use your newsletter email address for purposes unrelated to the newsletter without an appropriate lawful basis.

4. Our lawful bases for processing

Under UK data protection law, we must have a lawful basis for processing personal data.

Newsletter

When you subscribe to our newsletter, we rely on your consent to send you marketing and newsletter communications.

You provide this consent by voluntarily entering your email address into our newsletter subscription form and selecting the Subscribe button.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in our newsletters.

The ICO requires consent for marketing emails to individuals to involve a clear affirmative action, and people must be able to withdraw that consent easily. Our newsletter subscription process is designed around this principle.

Responding to enquiries

Where you contact us, we may process the information you provide because it is necessary to respond to your request and communicate with you.

Other processing

Where necessary, we may process personal data because it is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, to protect our legitimate interests, or for another lawful basis permitted under applicable data protection law.

5. Our newsletter and MailerLite

We use MailerLite to manage our newsletter mailing list and send newsletters.

When you subscribe to our newsletter, your email address is transferred to and stored by MailerLite for the purpose of managing your subscription and sending our newsletters.

MailerLite processes personal data on our behalf under its data processing arrangements.

Our newsletters contain an unsubscribe link. You can unsubscribe at any time without needing to contact us directly.

After you unsubscribe, we will no longer send you our newsletter. We may retain limited information, such as your email address on a suppression or unsubscribe list, where necessary to ensure that we do not accidentally send you further marketing communications.

6. Other third-party services

Our websites and games may contain links to third-party websites, platforms or services, including social and community platforms such as Discord, X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram.

These third-party services are operated independently from Cubenary. If you follow a link to a third-party service or use that service, your use of it will be governed by that service's own privacy policy and terms.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services that we do not operate.

Where our games use third-party platforms or services, such as Steam or Epic Games services, those providers may process personal data in accordance with their own privacy policies.

7. Kickstarter

Cubenary has previously run a Kickstarter campaign.

Information provided by backers through Kickstarter was collected through the Kickstarter platform rather than through the Cubenary website.

Where Cubenary received or otherwise processed personal data in connection with the Kickstarter campaign, that information may be processed for purposes connected with the campaign, such as fulfilling rewards, communicating with backers, or meeting legal and accounting obligations.

Kickstarter operates its own services and privacy practices. Information submitted directly to Kickstarter is also subject to Kickstarter's own privacy policy.

8. Cookies and analytics

Our website does not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, advertising trackers or similar analytics/tracking services.

We do not use your newsletter email address for behavioural advertising or targeted advertising.

Our website may use cookies or technologies that are strictly necessary for the operation and security of the website. Where cookies or similar technologies require consent under applicable law, we will provide the appropriate information and obtain consent where required.

9. How long do we keep your personal data?

We do not keep personal data indefinitely.

For newsletter subscribers, we retain your email address while you remain subscribed.

If you unsubscribe, we will stop using your email address to send newsletters. We may retain your email address on a suppression or unsubscribe list where reasonably necessary to ensure that we respect your decision not to receive further marketing communications.

For enquiries, we retain relevant correspondence only for as long as reasonably necessary to deal with the enquiry and any resulting matters, or for longer where we are required to do so by law or need the information to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Where personal data is subject to legal or accounting requirements, we may retain it for the period required by those obligations.

10. International transfers

Some of the third-party services we use may process personal data outside the United Kingdom.

Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we will take appropriate steps to ensure that the transfer is made in accordance with applicable UK data protection law and that appropriate safeguards are in place where required.

For example, MailerLite's data processing arrangements contain provisions concerning international transfers and applicable data protection safeguards.

11. How we protect your personal data

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure.

Access to personal data is limited to people and service providers who need it for legitimate business purposes.

However, no method of transmitting or storing information can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

12. Your rights

Depending on the circumstances and the applicable legal requirements, you have rights under UK data protection law, including:

  • The right to ask for access to the personal data we hold about you.
  • The right to ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
  • The right to ask us to delete your personal data in certain circumstances.
  • The right to ask us to restrict how we process your personal data in certain circumstances.
  • The right to object to certain types of processing.
  • The right to receive certain personal data in a portable format where the right applies.
  • The right to withdraw consent where we rely on consent to process your personal data.

For newsletter marketing, you can withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any newsletter.

The rights available to you depend on the circumstances and are subject to certain legal exceptions.

13. How to exercise your rights

If you want to exercise your data protection rights or have a question about how we use your personal data, contact us at:

info@cubenary.com

We may need to ask for additional information to verify your identity before responding to certain requests. This is to help protect personal data from being disclosed to the wrong person.

We will normally respond to valid data protection requests within the timeframe required by applicable law.

14. Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal data, please contact us first at:

info@cubenary.com

You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection supervisory authority, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

You can find information about making a complaint on the ICO's website:

https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/

15. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our services, how we process personal data, or applicable legal requirements.

When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

Where required by law, we will provide additional notice of significant changes.
